She has competed and placed in the top seventeen at the USBCHA National Finals many times, placing fourth with both Mick and and Jace in different years. She has won a number of double lift competitions over the years, most impressively winning the Bluegrass Classic three years in a row with Cap. In 2011 she competed in the World Trial held in Penrith, England (with Shep), placing thirteenth of 240 dogs (as the only woman competing in the final sixteen). In 2012, Lyle won the USBCHA Nursery Finals with her home-bred bitch, Lucky. Lyle has judged the National Finals in 2009 and the North Carolina State Championship trial.

*New for 2024*  Non-members and Open & Nursery dogs without 5 Qualifying Runs (collectively “Non-Qualifiers”) will be allowed to compete in the State Finals in the Open and Nursery classes, but will not be eligible to become the TSDA State champion in either class. In addition, Open Class Non-Qualifiers will not be eligible to compete in the double lift final. To be eligible for the State Finals a dog competing in Open Ranch, Ranch and Novice Classes must compete in 5 TSDA trials (each trial a “Qualifying Run”) in its class during the year of the State Finals.  The Handler must be a paid member prior to going to the post to be considered a Qualifying Run and before the dog can earn Dog of the Year points. See TSDA Rules for more details.

A maximum of two (2) premiums per class per handler will be paid.

Points will be based on the combined scores of the two runs.
