  • The handlers meeting for Junction Open will be at 12:00 pm noon on Thursday February 16 and will start the trial as soon as the meeting is over.   Will run continuously until the trial is over so some of the lower classes will start on Friday.  Will start the open one on Thursday and run the rest of the day then finish the open on Friday. Then start the open ranch one, then nursery one, then ranch one, then ranch two . Then open ranch two then nursery two then open two until we finish. 
  • John Lewis will judge the first open.  Brent Phelps will judge the lower classes.

  • The location is on the horse track at the Kimble County Fairgrounds.  The Open outrun will be about 350 yards.
  • Cancellations deadline 2/1/17 - reason of cancellations determines refunds after 2/1/17.
  • Class Order: Friday:  Open 1, Saturday:  All lower classes:   Open Ranch, Nursery, Ranch, Novice, Sunday:  Open 2
  • RV parking area will be marked with a sign, “Contestants Entrance”; no onsite hookups.

  • Note to Handlers:  The Sponsors have required a specific release of liability to be signed by anyone competing in this trial.  You must sign this release (in addition to the usual TSDA entry) before you go to the post.
  • The Sponsors have added money.  Payout will be to one place for five entries (not according to TSDA guidelines) for all classes.  Checks will be mailed the following week.
  • Sheep:  yearling range ewes.  The Local motels, restaurants, etc. are listed on www.junctiontexas.net
  • Sheep replacement charge,  $250, but could change.
  • We will accept three dogs/handler/class, but send a separate check for the third dog.

 

Directions

Directions:  Arriving from the east on I-10:  Take Exit 457 and turn left onto FM 2169.  In 0.9 miles, turn left onto Loop 481/FM 2169.  In 0.2 miles, FM 2169 turns right.  After turning, the Fairgrounds entrance is about 0.3 miles on the right.  Alternatively from I-10, take the next exit (Exit 456), turn left at the stop sign, and follow the directions in the next paragraph.

Arriving from the west on I-10:  Take Exit 456 and turn right onto US 377/Loop 481/Main Street.  Continue through town and remain on Loop 481/Main Street.  US 377 will turn off to the right in about a mile.  Do not turn, but remain on Loop 481/Main Street.  About half a mile past the bridge over Lake Junction (the bridge is about a mile and a half from I-10), turn right onto FM 2169.  Turn right into the Fairgrounds in about 0.3 miles.
