Hi Francis -
I know a retired couple that recently lost their 13 year old dog, and are now  looking for a 1 to 2 year old female (they might consider a male) border collie as a pet.  This dog would live in the house, spend winters at their Texas ranch and summers in Colorado.  She is a Veterinarian and both she and her husband spend a lot of time outside, and do a lot of horseback riding.  This dog would be an only child.

Please pass the word that if someone has a young dog for sale, that would make a wonderful pet, I would like to introduce them to my friends.  This would be as perfect of a home for a border collie that I can imagine.  If I
were a dog I would want to live with them.   In fact, I'm not a dog and I
would like to live with them.
