2008 TSDA STATE FINALS

When & Where

Perry Ranch, Ozona, Tx,.  Trial site is seven miles east of Ozona on I-10 at Taylor Box Rd to the truck stop then go five and two tenths miles south on Taylor Box Rd. and the ranch will be on the left.  About a mile before the ranch there is a Perry Ranch sign, go pass the sign and about a mile there is a Weir/Perry sign, turn left into the ranch.

Entry Deadline

Entry deadline is Oct. 15, 2008.  No entries will be accepted after Oct. 15th

Cancellation Deadline

Nov. 7th – no entries refunded after this day, both sheep & cattle finals.

Running order

Sheep running order  posted by Nov. 8th.   Cattle will be posted by Oct. 27th.

35.00 payback plus $2000.00 TSDA, plus sponsorship money.

Nursery Dogs

Secretary must have copy of registration papers for all nursery dogs.  Please send a copy of registration papers if you have not done so

Annual Meeting & Banquet

Banquet and Annual meeting will be Friday, Nov. 21st (6:30 pm) at Circle Bar Restaurant, Int 10 & Taylor Box Road, Ozona, Tx.  Meal will be a catfish buffet, $8.99 + tax+gratuity.

6:30 sharp on Friday morning for Open class – no one on course after 6:45.  Trial begin at 7 am.  

Stock

Wool Sheep furnished by Baggett Ranch, Ozona, Tx.

Day money

1st go-round 20%, second go-round 20% - average 60%.

Awards

Belt Bucks for 1st place in Open, Open Ranch,, Ranch, Novice, Nursery.

Alternate Entries

Alternate entries must be to trial secretary prior to first run in trial.

RV Hookups

RV parking, no Hookups.  RV park on I10 & Taylor Box Rd.  More information later.  At the Circle Bar Motel there is a 100 spot RV park for $15.00 a night.-

Running order:  Friday, Open /Nursery Class

Class begins at 7 am.  1st round of open (5 sheep), outrun, lift, fetch, drive, shed & pen.  Second round of open (5 sheep, 2 will be collared) – outrun, lift, fetch, drive, shed two un-collared sheep, regather sheep then pen, single one collared sheep.   Open Finals: Double lift, drive, shed (split sheep) and pen 5 sheep that dog took control of.

Number of Runs

1.  75 entries or less - two (2) go-rounds plus finals. Open class finals will be a double lift. Payback - 60% average, 20% - 1st go-round, 20% - 2nd go-round.

2.  76 to 100 entries - two (2) go-rounds, combined scores, no finals in Open Ranch, Ranch, Novice & Nursery. Open (only) a 40% run back double lift finals, clean slate.

3. 101 to 125 - one (1) go-round, plus 40% run back in all classes. Open Finals will be a double lift. Pay back: 60% average, 40%.  1st go-round.  standard may be if necessary depending on time and total number of runs – set at premiums paid.

This is the closest motel to the trial site.  There is also a nice restaurant next door to the motel. The restaurant, motel and RV park are all in one area.  Super 8, Taylor Box Rd / I-10, exit 372, Ozona TX.  Call 800-854-9518 to make reservations - make reservations by phone.  Use confirmation # 53896977 (Texas Sheep Dog Association group rate).  Rate $ 60.30 per room per night plus taxes.  Make reservations early cause this will be hunting season.
